2022 NAWP Board Nomination Considerations:

 

  • these positions are two-year terms, beginning in Feb 2022.

  • Board positions require a commitment of time & energy, that should not be underestimated. the nawp has many initiatives and all board members are expected to participate and will have assigned duties.

  • board members will be expected to supervise and lead initiative committees comprised of the general membership.

  • Board members function in a volunteer capacity & receive no compensation -- however, they do gain valuable experience & knowledge while serving.

requirements:

  • Nominees must be current dues paying members.

  • nominees must be an active level member in good standing. (Active Level members are current, full-time certified law enforcement)

  • Attendance at 2 in-person general membership meetings/events a year is mandatory.

  • attendance at monthly board meetings & participation in active electronic communications (text/email)

VICE-PRESIDENT:

The Vice-President shall preside in the absence of the President. It is further provided that the Vice-President shall be the liaison of all standing Initiative Committees. The Vice-President may have other powers as the Board of Directors may determine.
 

TREASURER:   

It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive and receipt all monies belonging to the Association, and without unnecessary delay, deposit them to the credit of the Association in the bank designated for that purpose; keep accurate, detailed and business-like records of the same; render a financial statement at each meeting and upon request of the President, fill out and sign all certificates of membership granted by the Association, and perform all such other duties as may be required by these bylaws or which may be necessary in the interests of the Association. She/he shall deliver to her/his successor all monies and other property of the Association in her/his position.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR:

It shall be the duty of the Communications Director to oversee communications of the Association and the Board to its membership and the public. She/He will maintain social media accounts and the webpage for the Association. The website should contain information pertinent to the Association membership, supporters and the recruitment of future members. She/He will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing marketing and public relations strategies for the Association. She/he shall retain editorial control of any items submitted by any person for publication and shall deliver to her/his successor all property of the Association in her/his possession including passwords necessary for access to electronic accounts.

Nomination submissions will be accepted through January 29th at noon.

 

All nominees will be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their work with the NAWP.
